World Cup Fever

I've found myself caught up in the World Cup all of a sudden. Some of it is sincere -- I honestly admire professional soccer players' footwork and complete athleticism -- and, well, some of it is purely disingenous bandwagon-ing (helllooo! Beckham is just plain gorgeous!!!!)

In any case, we started our morning off with a trip across the street to SmallBar where they've been broadcasting all of the World Cup games. Those of you visiting laplanderson from overseas may be shocked to know that it was a packed house. The overwhelming majority of SmallBar fans were rooting for England.

Go England!

The Brits ended up losing to Portugal in the end. My condolances to those of you visiting from London. It was a well fought game.
