Dear Audrey

This morning I went to get you from the crib and you broke into a huge gummy grin. You flapped your arms and kicked your feet hello and my heart skipped thirty beats in return.

15 years from now when you inevitably scream “I hate you mom!” at the top of your lungs and slam a door behind you, please refer back to this post and know there are no adequate words to describe the love I feel for you. And go ahead and just try to toss in a “Why are you doing this to me?!” because no matter what you’re angry about and no matter how much you’ve decided you detest me, I will have enough love for both of us. Always.
